TALAMPAYA CANYON

Talampaya Canyon is the main tourist attraction in Talampaya National Park, receiving over 60,000 visitors every year. The 150-metre high reddish walls and the various geomorphologies (the Monk, the Tower, etc) make it a one-of-kind natural show, as well as the astonishing rock engravings called petroglyphs.

The only tourist complex within Talampaya National Park is located in the canyon area. Tourist facilities and information are available at the complex (including restrooms, a restaurant, a regional gift shop, a camping area, and a tour hire desk), serving as a starting point for the tours.

Talampaya Canyon is a gift from nature and our ancestors; it transcends our existence. Appreciating its majesty and scale is a humbling experience.

Find the peace that you need to relax from your busy life and responsibilities in the quiet overlooks of the Canyon.

Take the time to amaze at the scenery and to feel its mystical energy. Indulge in the thrilling show of light and shadow cast by the sun all along your tour; feel the sun and the wind on your face on every trail.

Enjoy the unique experience of following the flight of the Condors spreading their wings as if to embrace the canyon walls. Dawn and dusk are special occasions to admire the unique reflections of sunlight on the red soil of Talampaya.

Don’t miss the opportunity to experience the humility before nature and the desire to look after the planet that this magnificent scenery, formed by wind and water erosion processes, transmits.

Human kind must make sure that the future generations have an opportunity to create their own bonds with Talampaya Canyon.
